The Story
Woven Dreams brought outerwear to the New York Fashion Week runway that was built to carry emotion, not only warmth. Architecture that happens to be soft: sculptural volume held in a clean line, moving at the speed of a body walking.
The enveloping cocoon, the cropped and sculptural body, the capelet that sits on the shoulder rather than covering the frame, and the soft knit built to disappear under all of it. The volume is generous but never loose: every piece holds a defined line at the neck, the cuff or the hem.
Wool yarn and dimensional wool knits held the textile origins; cotton and acrylic knits brought softness and openness. Technical fabrics and nylon outerwear carried lightness, volume and protection, set against open crochet, dense knitwork and sheer layers. The natural beside the engineered.
White formed the emotional centre of Woven Dreams. Off-white and oatmeal introduced warmth and the natural state of fibre and yarn; black grounded the palette and sharpened the architectural line.
The intense blue in much of the show photography comes from the lighting in the room. It is not part of the garment palette.
